A320 Type Rating Instructor Course (TRI)

The Initial A320 Type Rating Instructor (TRI) Course, is designed to train you to the level of proficiency necessary, to enable you operate as TRI on A320. The course is designed to give adequate training to the applicant in theoretical knowledge instruction; flight instruction and synthetic flight instruction in order to instruct for A320 trainings.

What are the entry requirements in the A320 Type Rating Instructor Course (TRI) ?

In order to ensure consistent proficiency at the end of the course, certain qualifications are required for entry.

  1. Valid and Current CPL(A) or ATPL(A) on the applicable aircraft category
  2. Valid and Current EASA  Medical 
  3. Have completed 1500 hours flight time as a pilot on multi-pilot airplanes
  4. Have completed, within the 12 months preceding the date of application, 30 route sectors, including takeoffs and landings, as pilot in command or copilot on the applicable airplane type, of which 15 sectors may be completed in a FFS representing that type

What does the A320 Type Rating Instructor Course (TRI) include?

 

The A320 Initial TRI Course, comprises of 3 phases in total:

  1. Theoretical Knowledge Instruction of 35 hours in total. During this phase, you will attend the 25 hours Core Course – Teaching & Learning – as well as the Technical Training, which has a duration of 10 hours.
  2. The Simulator Training, comprises of 10 hours of Full Flight Simulator (FFS).
  3. At the end of your course, you will have to pass an Assessment of Competence (AoC) on A320 FFS, by an Type Rating Examiner.
