The DA42 is a revolutionary luxury airplane designed with the pilot and passengers in mind by the Canadian / Austrian company Diamond Aircraft. The DA42 Twin Star made its first flight in December 2002 and received the EASA IFR certification in May 2004. It is the first diesel-powered fixed-wing aircraft to make a non-stop crossing of the North Atlantic in 12.5 hours, demonstrating the capability to be operated by air forces, flight training schools and aerial surveillance and mapping operators. This article will explore why Diamond DA42 is the leading edge of light airplane technology and the most suitable for training.
Safety by design
For TAE Aviation Academy, safety is a priority. Introducing a DA42 in our aircraft fleet was a careful choice. Diamond aircraft have the best safety record of any aircraft in the air today! As you can understand, the careful selection of our fleet demonstrates that we prioritize safety.

Exceptional Visibility
What would you wish not to miss while flying? Exceptional views that flying has to offer. The DA42 offers excellent visibility thanks to a panoramic wrap-around canopy and generous rear windows.
High Performance
The DA42 can fly at a maximum altitude of 18,000ft, climb at a rate of 5.0m/s and reach a distance of 2,245km with a long-range tank. It is an aircraft with high performance and the lowest fuel consumption due to a direct fuel injection system with state-of-the-art engine management (EECU).
Garmin 1000 Avionics
The G1000 all-glass avionics suite is a feature of the DA42 Multi-Engine Aircraft. This system alerting database gives the pilot an excellent sense of his/her location. The virtual reality display provides a supplemental 3-D depiction of ground and water features, airports, obstacles and traffic. Mainly, this makes situational orientation far more manageable and less stressful.
With Diamond Aircraft in our fleet, we go above and beyond.
